Unemployment is a major challenge that affects youth across Kenya. Approximately 800,000 young Kenyans enter the labor market every year and youth unemployment is estimated to be as high as 35%, compared to the overall national unemployment rate of 10% Furthermore, where lower academic performance in High School closes out the possibility for higher education which guarantee continuity of schooling the youth are left hopeless. They need an alternative way to earn a living & plan for their lives.

This project will ensure that the youth are not only equipped and mentored with marketable job skills and career development plans, it will also offer them income that will allow them to afford basic needs and the ability to save for college or save capital to start a micro business. This will offer the dignity of life and offer hope. Earning an income will break the cycle of poverty, propel them to be contributing members of society and help with their communities.

Long-Term Impact

The increased economic viability of youth and their households Increased preparedness of enrolled youth to make decisions, own and drive their life and career Increase access and uptake of economic and academic opportunities for high school graduates Reduce the risk and vulnerability of disadvantaged youth Increase and influence the volunteerism and giving among Kenyan professionals in the youth development sector
