Mutaz, the 8-year-old boy, carried a heavy silence for years. A silence imposed by a brutal airstrike on his town in northern Syria, robbing him not only of safety but of his most precious gift—his hearing. For years, Mutaz lived trapped in a silent world, unable to hear his mother’s calls, his friends’ laughter, or even the sound of his own small footsteps.
We could not stand idly by in the face of his suffering. Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to provide Mutaz with a hearing aid that restored his ability to hear the sounds of life once again. Today, we witnessed a moment of pure joy as his mother shed tears of happiness.
You are the ones who brought life back to Mutaz. You are the ones who gave him the chance to live his childhood as it should be. But the story doesn’t end here… there are many children in Syria like Mutaz still waiting for their chance to hear the sounds of life again.
