PCI have been working together with other community patners for more than two years on a variety of projects
focused on health equity through health fairs, educational events, employment opportunities and more. The disparity in food insecurity between black and white households in Wisconsin is among the largest in the country. During 2015-2019, 7.4% of white families in Wisconsin were food insecure, compared to 21.4% of Hispanic households and 32.6% of black households; the comparable numbers nationwide were 8.8%, 17.4%, and 21.2

PCI’s strategic and programmatic goals for 2023 are positioned to impact the following areas:

  • Nurture comprehensive and expansive partnerships with local organizations that serve vulnerable individuals and families in the community, specifically minority, immigrant, and low income families.
  • Increased outreach initiatives to impact community-wide awareness of COVID-19 services offered to minority, immigrant, and low-income families.
  • Enriched network of resources offered, at the organizational and community-wide level, to provide direct service to vulnerable minority, immigrant, and low-income families in crisis within our service area.
