Promoting Kidney Health
By Ogochukwu Okoye | Project Leader
In the past few months, we have intensified efforts to promote kidney health through public education via social media.
We continue to operate twice weekly free outpatient clinics in our office at Benin City and provide subsidised anti- hypertensives, anti-diabetic medications, and laboratory tests. We also provide free consultation online to those who reach through email or social media messanger.
Due to very low donations and dwindling funds, we are unable to assist kidney failure patients who require our help for renal replacement (dialysis or kidney transplant). However, we use our social media platform to help them solicit funds from the public.
SLRCI remains commited to making a difference but we can do so little without your help.
We look forward to pushing boundaries with you in the coming months!

Supporting Nigerians living with kidney disease
By Ogochukwu Okoye | Founder
St Linus Renal Care Initiative is committed to supporting patients living with CKD and helping to address the risk factors of CKD.
In the last quarter, we have continued to support patients on haemodialysis with our limited resources. We visited the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Dialysis unit and supported six patients.
We collaborated with a State in Nigeria to disseminate information about the association of air pollution with CKD.
Other activities include free screening for CKD, hypertension and diabetes in our local community. We additionally, continue to offer free nephrology consultation (twice weekly) and subsidised labs and treatments for persons living with CKD who visit our clinic.
We plan to offer free CKD screening during the upcoming World Kidney Day on March 14th, 2024.
SLRCI is grateful for your support but we NEED your kind donations to help reduce the sufferings of patient with kidney failure and put a smile on their faces.
SLRCI is that Hand You Can Trust.

Supporting Nigerians living with CKD
By Ogochukwu Okoye | Project Leader
Our organisation continues to strive towards our goal of improving the lives of Nigerians living with CKD and related diseases. Although donations only trickle in, we are eternally grateful to our donors for your continuos support.
We have sustained our free kidney health clinics, offering free consultations, subsidised medicines and laboratory tests. This quarter we additionally assisted children with kidney failure, providing funds for dialysis and support in seeking long term treatment.
The dire situation of patients requirng dialysis in Nigeria, led us to organise an Advocay and Fundraiser Walk in our host town Benin City, Nigeria. This was a hugely successful event, that we disseminated on a local daily newspaper and on all our social media platforms. We are hopeful that this event will persuade the public to be more sympathetic and want to help reduce the sufferings of patients living with kidney failure.
Once again, We are grateful for your support and we urge you not to relent. Your donations save lives and put smiles on faces; the patients are grateful! We can do even more with your support.
