Family Camp Project: Quarterly Update

By Dymochko Tetiana | Project Manager

Dear friends,

Thank you for staying with us and supporting the “Camp for Families” project. For families raising children with Down syndrome, this is much more than just a vacation — it is an opportunity to be among those who understand, to restore their energy, and to find support.

The past three months have been challenging for the entire country. The winter in Ukraine was extremely harsh — record low temperatures, constant shelling, and the ongoing war created additional difficulties for families and teams working with them. During this time, no camps were held, as our camp season traditionally takes place in the summer. However, this period is essential for building the foundation of the experience that families will soon receive.

We are rethinking the format of the upcoming sessions, discussing how to make the program even more useful and at the same time safe for both parents and children, and preparing for the new season. We also continue to stay in touch with families who are looking forward to becoming part of this space again.

Financial Update
All funds raised within the project are securely held and will be used to organize the upcoming camp sessions.

What’s Next
We are now moving into an active preparation phase for the summer season. Our goal is to ensure that even more families can experience this atmosphere of support, acceptance, and community — despite the challenges we all face today.

Thank you for your trust and for helping this project live and grow
