Even after the waters receded in Porto Alegre, Aldeias Infantis SOS Brazil remains actively committed to supporting families who continue to face extreme social vulnerability. The impact of the floods goes beyond material losses, directly affecting the emotional and psychological well-being of these communities. Aware of this reality, the organization has been working continuously to provide comprehensive support to families, offering specialized psychological assistance to help them overcome the trauma and anxieties caused by the disaster.
However, the needs of these families extend beyond emotional support. Many have lost their homes and essential belongings, facing the challenge of rebuilding their lives from scratch. With the support of its partners, Aldeias Infantis SOS Brazil has distributed 138 reconstruction aid cards. This benefit was granted to the most affected families, allowing them to purchase construction materials, furniture, and basic appliances to rebuild their homes and restore a safe and dignified living environment.
Aldeias Infantis has been working in partnership with other organizations to ensure that families not only rebuild their homes but also regain their routines with dignity and stability. This effort reinforces the commitment to rebuilding lives, promoting long-term resilience, and ensuring that these families receive the necessary support to recover and build a brighter future.
