Hey! Thank you for being part of our little community. We wanted to take a minute to catch you up on what's been happening at The Hub over the past few months — because honestly, it's been a season full of good moments, and you helped make them happen.
From May to July, our team was out there every day doing what we love: feeding kids, patching them up, cheering them on in school, and just being someone they can count on. Here's the scoop.
Here's What We Got Up To
We're not going to bury you in spreadsheets — but a few numbers really do tell a happy story. Over 940 kids and young people crossed paths with our team this quarter. Every single one of them got a meal, a conversation, or a hand up when they needed it most.
And for the kids who can't easily come to us — because home is the street, or home keeps moving — our Mobile Unit goes out and finds them instead. Six outreach trips later, our team had connected with 138 children and young people, and flagged a handful who needed extra care right away.
Meet Nan
Okay, this is the part we really wanted to share with you. Nan is 16. A couple of years ago, she had to stop going to school. Her parents had separated, and she was living with her grandmother, her uncle, and four little cousins, the youngest just one year old.
Nobody in the house was in school.
Nobody from the government and community to support.
Money was tight: her grandmother sold recyclables, her uncle picked up day jobs when he could find them. So Nan went looking for work herself, just to help keep everyone fed and housed.
"I was afraid no one would hire me because I wasn't 18 yet," Nan told us. "The Hub was the first place that helped me believe I still had a future."
Here's the good part: our team showed her she didn't have to choose between studying and working she could do both. She enrolled in a non-formal high school program in Klong Toey, started coming to our life-skills groups, even joined a summer camp. Slowly, she started believing in herself again. Meanwhile, relief supplies from The Hub helped take some pressure off her whole family.
She picked up a part-time job at Big C Supercenter. When she turned 18, we helped connect her with a year at PCS. And today? Nan works as a childcare assistant at an international school — spending her days looking after other kids, the same way someone once looked after her.

We like to keep things real with you, so here's what's actually happening on the ground — and why we're still hopeful:
We're seeing a bit fewer new kids on the street these days, but the cases that do come to us are trickier, and take real time to work through properly — sometimes years. That's not discouraging to us, it's actually why we're so grateful for people like you who stick around for the long haul instead of just one visit.
Some families are especially hard to reach, especially when a caregiver is struggling themselves. Our social workers keep learning new things — psychology, tech, you name it — just to keep showing up in the best way they can. And honestly? Every meal, every check-up, every school fee we cover is only possible because of support like yours.
