Project Overview: 

The Tech for Future Drive project, initiated by the Julie Helping Hands Foundation, aims to bridge the digital divide in rural communities by providing free computer training to children aged 10 to 17 years old. The project focuses on empowering young minds with essential digital literacy skills, expanding their access to information, and fostering a keen interest in technology. By equipping these children with digital skills, we aim to open doors for future opportunities and inspire them to become tech-savvy individuals who can contribute to their communities and beyond. 

Project Updates 

Since its launch in May 2022, the Tech for Future Drive project has made significant progress: 

• Graduated 550 students across various training batches, including: 
  • 7 batches of basic computer training 
  • 4 batches of Artificial Intelligence (AI) training 
  • 3 batches of Canva design training 
  • 1 batch of Photoscape training 
  • New enrollments continue to grow, even during the holiday period, reflecting the high demand for digital skills training in the community. 

Project Achievements: 

The project has successfully: 

• Improved students' digital literacy, enabling them to navigate the digital world with confidence. 
• Expanded students' access to information, empowering them to explore new opportunities. 
• Ignited curiosity and interest in technology, inspiring students to pursue further learning in tech-related fields. 
• Received positive feedback from both students and parents, highlighting the transformative impact of the program on the children's confidence and skills. 

Project Challenges: 

The primary challenge faced by the project is the lack of a stable power supply. The training center currently relies on generators, which has led to: 

• Increased operational costs, diverting funds that could be used for expanding the program. 
• Limited training hours, reducing the number of students who can benefit from the program. 

Future Plans and Partnerships (2025):

To address the power supply challenge and expand the program's reach, Julie Helping Hands Foundation seeks to: 

1. Secure sustainable funding for a reliable power source, such as solar energy, to ensure uninterrupted training sessions and reduce operational costs. 
2. Establish partnerships with community members, organizations, and donors to support the project's growth and sustainability. 
3. Expand the program to other rural communities, enabling more children to benefit from digital literacy training. 
4. Graduate a larger cohort of digitally proficient students by March 2025, inspiring them to leverage their newfound skills for future success.
