Imagine being displaced by violence, losing your livelihood and access to school, healthcare and protection and then facing the risk of trafficking or exploitation. In crisis-affected Benue, women, girls, children and IDPs are increasingly vulnerable. Our project will reach 5 LGAs, engaging 3 communities and 3 schools in each to raise awareness, strengthen prevention, survivor protection, referrals and livelihood support. Benue families affected by violence, displacement and poverty face increased risks of trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation and abuse. Women, girls, children, IDPs and vulnerable host communities are particularly at risk. Your donation will fund awareness sessions in 15 communities and 15 schools across 5 LGAs, helping people recognize trafficking, avoid deceptive recruitment and safely report abuse. It will also support survivor referrals and livelihood assistance
We will prevent trafficking through targeted awareness in 15 communities and 15 schools across 5 LGAs, teaching women, girls, children, IDPs, parents and teachers how to identify risks and report safely. We will strengthen referral pathways, survivor protection and livelihood support, helping vulnerable families access assistance, recover dignity, reduce exploitation risks and build safer, more resilient futures.
The project will create safer and more resilient communities by strengthening knowledge, prevention and community-based protection against human trafficking. Women, girls and children will be better equipped to recognize and report exploitation, while schools, parents and community leaders become stronger protection networks. Improved referral systems and livelihood opportunities will reduce vulnerability and dependence on unsafe sources of income.
