Executive Summary:
We are pleased to present the project report for the implementation of the Support Digital Literacy program in Kpaduma Village, Abuja. This project, initiated by the Julie Helping Hands Foundation, aimed to provide ICT education to children in rural communities, specifically Kpaduma Village. The project was made possible with the support funds received from GlobalGiving, which played a vital role in the successful execution of our mission.
Project Overview:
The primary objective of the project was to bridge the digital divide and improve access to quality education in Kpaduma Village. The project focused mainly on ICT literacy. Through a comprehensive approach, we aimed to empower children with essential knowledge and skills that would positively impact their lives and the community as a whole.

Improved Digital Literacy:
Some improvements in the computer lab and the ICT literacy training had a profound impact on the children's digital literacy skills. They developed proficiency in using computers, navigating the internet, and utilizing various software applications. This newfound knowledge opened up opportunities for further learning and expanded their horizons beyond the confines of their village.
Empowerment and Community Engagement:
The project fostered a sense of empowerment among the children, enabling them to explore new avenues and envision a brighter future. Their increased digital literacy skills which has empowered them to become agents of change within their community. They actively shared their learnings, collaborated on projects, and participated in community outreach activities, thereby fostering a culture of continuous learning and engagement.
Tech for Future Drive Graduation Ceremony
The Graduation Ceremony, Certificate, and Prize Giving Day for the Tech for Future Drive program were successfully held on May 27, 2023. The event aimed to celebrate the achievements of the children who participated in the program and provide them with a platform to showcase their skills. The planning committee, consisting of volunteers from Julie Helping Hands Foundation, coordinated the event's various aspects, including venue selection, program scheduling, and decorations.
The ceremony took place at New Capitol Academy Asokoro, featuring a vibrant and festive atmosphere with JHF-themed props. Media coverage from African Independent Television (AIT) and Radio ensured the event's visibility. The program included the national anthem, welcome remarks from the founders, remarks from guest speakers, video presentations showcasing testimonials and the foundation's activities, a keynote address emphasizing the importance of digital literacy, awards presentation for outstanding performers, cultural dance performances, drama presentations, an ICT showcase, certificate distribution, a reception with food and drinks, closing remarks expressing gratitude, and a lively dance session with the children and the founder of Julie Helping Hands Foundation.
Overall, the event was a resounding success, highlighting the significance of the Tech for Future Drive program and the transformative impact it had on the participating children. The ceremony provided a memorable experience for all attendees and reinforced the commitment of Julie Helping Hands Foundation to empower children through education and technology.
The Role of GlobalGiving Support Funds:
The support funds received from GlobalGiving were instrumental in the successful implementation of the project. The funds enabled us to procure necessary equipment, educational materials, to improve the computer lab. The financial assistance provided by GlobalGiving truly acted as a catalyst, allowing us to extend our reach and make a lasting impact on the lives of children in Kpaduma Village.
Conclusion:
The Support Digital Literacy in Kpaduma Village project has had a transformative impact on the lives of children in the community. Through the integration of health education and ICT literacy, we have empowered the next generation with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the digital age.
