PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is focusing on fighting the child stunting and malnutrition in Uganda. Through different nutrition innovations PLANE is empowering marginalized children and mothers and the entire public to break the cycle of malnutrition and poverty by intensifying the campaigns of sensitizing and educating the public about the problem..
PLANE is engaging the public using the radio talk shows on Voice of Toro 101 FM. We carried out two radio talk shows and two shows on Fort Television. These are aimed at sensitizing the people on the value of good feeding. We believe that once the people get the information, they are able to have good practices.a m
We also organized a meeting for the District Nutrition Coordination committee to discuss about the best ways and interventions we can fight malnutrition in Kabarole district.
While PLANE's progress is undeniable, the path ahead is not without obstacles. With limited traction on fundraising platform GlobalGiving, a mere $320 donations in this quarter could not do much.
This time we could not move to the communities to teach kitchen gardens because of the limited funding.
The imperative need for increased donor engagement underscores the urgency of bridging the gap between intention and impact.
