Dear Donor,
The continuing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo demonstrates why strong community action remains essential.
The latest ECDC update reports 8,116 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases and 3,924 deaths, with 2,088 people having recovered. The outbreak continues to affect 63 health zones across seven provinces.
Development Alert continues supporting community preparedness through health education, hygiene promotion, early reporting and responsible risk communication.
Our efforts focus on helping people understand practical steps they can take to protect themselves, their families and their communities. We encourage people to communicate health concerns promptly and cooperate with trained healthcare and surveillance teams.
Community action is particularly important because transmission patterns continue to vary between locations. Some areas are experiencing declines while others continue reporting new infections.
Your generous support helps keep communities informed, engaged and prepared as the response continues.
