Dear Donor,
The fight against current Ebola outbreak is not progressing in the same way everywhere. This entails that different locations requires different approaches at a given point.
The latest World Health Organization reports that transmission remains heterogeneous: Ituri has experienced a gradual decline from its mid-August peak, North Kivu experienced a substantial increase followed by recent decline, Haut-Uélé continues to experience transmission, and Tshopo has shown renewed activity.
As a team, Development Alert continues encouraging communities to remain prepared despite these changing patterns.
A decline in one location does not necessarily mean the wider outbreak has ended.
Therefore, Continued awareness, early reporting and cooperation remain important as transmission patterns evolve.
