Dear Donor,
The latest Ebola situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo continues to demonstrate the importance of sustained community preparedness.
According to the latest ECDC update, the DRC has recorded 8,116 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases and 3,924 deaths, with 2,088 people having recovered. The outbreak continues to affect 63 health zones across seven provinces.
Development Alert continues strengthening community awareness around early reporting, hygiene, appropriate healthcare seeking and cooperation with trained health teams.
Our work focuses on helping communities understand how they can contribute to reducing transmission while avoiding fear, stigma and misinformation.
The continuing number of new cases demonstrates that preparedness must remain active even in locations where transmission appears to be declining.
Your support helps keep communities informed and prepared as the response continues.
