Dear Donor,
The latest Ebola figures remind us that the response is far from over.
WHO reported 8,116 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases and 3,924 deaths in the DRC as of 27 September 2026, with 2,088 people having recovered.
Although transmission has declined in some locations, WHO continues to report substantial variation between affected provinces and health zones.
Development Alert remains committed to community preparedness through health education, hygiene promotion, early reporting, risk communication and support for cooperation with health authorities.
We believe preparedness must remain active even when the situation improves in individual communities.
The experience of this outbreak demonstrates the importance of strong relationships between communities, health workers and response organizations.
Your continued support helps keep community action alive as the Ebola response enters another critical phase.
