Dear Donor,
Community engagement is not an optional addition to Ebola response—it is a central part of effective preparedness.
WHO continues identifying community engagement, surveillance, laboratory testing, infection prevention and control, clinical care and contact tracing among the major response measures being implemented in the DRC.
Development Alert continues contributing at community level through awareness, health education, hygiene promotion and encouragement of cooperation with response teams.
Communities understand their own social networks, movement patterns and local challenges.
Engaging residents respectfully can therefore improve communication and help health information reach people in practical ways.
Your support helps ensure that communities remain active partners in protecting themselves and supporting the wider response.
