Dear Donor,
Schools are important community environments for health education and preparedness.
Development Alert continues promoting age-appropriate awareness around hygiene, responsible health-seeking behavior and the importance of communicating health concerns to trusted adults.
The current DRC outbreak demonstrates why community institutions need preparedness messages that can continue even as transmission patterns change.
Protecting children also means helping teachers, parents and caregivers understand how to respond appropriately when illness occurs.
We encourage schools and communities to rely on guidance from qualified health authorities rather than rumors.
Health education can also help reduce fear and stigma by giving young people accurate information in language they can understand.
Your support helps communities make preparedness part of everyday life, including within learning environments.
