Dear Donor,
Early recognition of illness can make an important difference during an Ebola response.
WHO continues to report concerns about delayed detection and deaths occurring within communities, which can increase the opportunity for transmission before patients receive appropriate care.
Development Alert continues encouraging families to take unusual or concerning illness seriously and to seek professional medical assistance promptly.
Our community education efforts emphasize that people should not rely on rumors, unverified remedies or concealment because of fear.
We encourage families to communicate openly with health workers and cooperate with surveillance teams when requested.
The goal is not to create panic, but to encourage informed and timely action.
When families know where to seek help and understand the importance of early reporting, communities become better prepared to respond.
