Dear Donor,
Behind every Ebola statistic is a person, a family and a community facing uncertainty.
WHO's latest figures show that the DRC has recorded more than 8,000 confirmed Bundibugyo virus disease cases and nearly 4,000 deaths since the outbreak began.
Development Alert continues placing people at the centre of our community preparedness efforts.
We promote health information that helps families understand the importance of early reporting, appropriate healthcare seeking and infection prevention.
We also recognize the emotional and social consequences of an outbreak. Fear, stigma and misinformation can discourage people from seeking care or cooperating with response teams.
Community awareness therefore needs to be compassionate as well as practical.
Your support enables us to continue strengthening messages that protect health while preserving dignity, trust and solidarity.
