Dear Donor,
The continuing Ebola outbreak in the DRC highlights the importance of health preparedness across borders.
WHO has emphasized that movement through formal and informal crossing routes can create challenges for surveillance and increase the possibility of virus exportation or importation.
Development Alert continues promoting responsible health information among communities connected by travel, trade and family networks.
Our message is simple: border communities should remain informed without stigmatizing travelers or people from affected areas.
People experiencing concerning symptoms should seek qualified medical assistance and communicate openly with health workers.
Cross-border preparedness also requires cooperation between communities and public health authorities.
By strengthening awareness and trust, we can help communities respond responsibly while protecting livelihoods and human dignity.
