Dear Donor,
The Ebola response continues to face the challenge of transmission appearing in new locations.
The latest ECDC data show continued reporting of cases in several provinces, including new cases in Haut-Uélé, Bas-Uélé and Tshopo, alongside substantial transmission in Ituri and North Kivu.
For Development Alert, these developments reinforce the importance of maintaining preparedness even when a community has not recently experienced many cases.
We continue promoting hygiene practices, health awareness and communication with appropriate health authorities.
Preparedness is particularly important along routes connecting communities through trade, family visits, transport and other everyday activities.
Our goal is not to restrict normal community life but to encourage responsible health behaviour when risks are present.
Prepared communities are better positioned to recognize warning signs, report concerns and cooperate with professional response teams.
