Dear Donor,
Early recognition of illness remains a critical component of Ebola response.
WHO has emphasized that delayed detection can increase the risk of transmission within households, communities and healthcare settings. With the DRC outbreak continuing to evolve across many health zones, timely reporting remains essential.
Development Alert continues promoting awareness about the importance of seeking qualified medical attention when concerning symptoms develop rather than attempting to manage serious illness secretly at home.
Our community messaging also encourages people to cooperate with surveillance and contact-tracing teams.
Early reporting can help health authorities investigate suspected cases, arrange appropriate testing and connect patients with professional care.
At the same time, communities need reassurance that seeking healthcare should not be associated with shame or stigma.
Your support helps us promote messages that can encourage earlier action, strengthen trust and support the wider Ebola response.
