Dear Donor,
Community trust remains one of the most valuable resources during an Ebola emergency.
Effective response requires people to cooperate with health workers, surveillance teams, contact tracers and other trained responders.
Development Alert continues strengthening community understanding of why these activities are necessary.
We encourage respectful communication between response teams and affected households and promote dignity for people who are sick, recovering or being monitored as contacts.
The latest ECDC reporting also confirms that thousands of people have recovered from the current outbreak, reinforcing the importance of avoiding stigma against survivors and affected families.
Building trust helps transform public-health guidance into practical community action
