Dear Donor,
Reliable information is one of the most important tools available to communities during an Ebola emergency.
The latest situation shows that transmission patterns are changing across the DRC, with some areas experiencing declines while others continue reporting cases and new affected locations emerge.
Development Alert continues promoting clear, practical health messages through community networks.
Our communication focuses on early reporting, hygiene, appropriate healthcare seeking, cooperation with health workers and stigma reduction.
We also encourage communities to rely on qualified health authorities rather than rumors or unverified information circulating through informal channels.
Good communication helps people respond calmly and responsibly.
When communities have trustworthy information, they are better prepared to protect themselves, their families and their neighbors.
