Dear Donor,
Women and caregivers often carry significant responsibilities when families face health emergencies.
During an Ebola outbreak, caregivers may support sick relatives, look after children and manage household responsibilities while also dealing with fear and uncertainty.
Development Alert continues promoting accurate health information and safe caregiving practices.
We emphasize that suspected Ebola cases should be referred to qualified health professionals and that caregivers should not expose themselves to unnecessary risk by attempting high-risk care without appropriate protection.
We also promote dignity, compassion and stigma reduction for affected households.
Caregivers need information they can trust so they can make safer decisions for themselves and their families.
Supporting caregivers strengthens the wider community response and helps ensure that vulnerable households are not left behind.
