Dear Donor,
Through your efforts, the World Health Organization reports encouraging signs of declining transmission in parts of Ituri, but Africa CDC cautions that the outbreak remains heterogeneous and that increases continue in some health zones.
The DRC has recorded 7,475 confirmed cases and 3,605 deaths as of 16 September.
Your continued support ensures that Development Alert continues with preparedness activities rather than allowing encouraging local trends to create complacency.
Our work includes community surveillance, hygiene promotion, risk communication and early reporting.
Preparedness must continue until health authorities determine that transmission has been interrupted.
Encouraging progress is a reason to strengthen what is working—not to stop.
