Dear Donor,
Schools remain important platforms for community health education especially during Ebola outbreak.
The continuing DRC outbreak—with 7,475 confirmed cases and 3,605 deaths—demonstrates why children and teachers should be included in preparedness planning.
With your continued support, Development Alert continues promoting hygiene education, responsible health communication and early reporting among school communities.
Community Teachers can help children understand basic protective practices and communicate health concerns to trusted adults.
We also emphasize stigma reduction so children from affected households are not bullied or excluded. This approach helps make community members live comfortably after Ebola.
Educating children today strengthens household preparedness tomorrow.
