Dear Donor,
Delayed healthcare seeking remains a major challenge in Ebola control.
WHO has warned that delayed detection increases the risk of transmission within households, communities and healthcare settings.
Development Alert continues encouraging families to seek appropriate professional care when serious illness occurs.
Our role is to help communities understand when and where to report concerns and to reduce fear surrounding health facilities.
We also encourage families to avoid self-diagnosis and unverified treatments.
With 7,475 confirmed cases and 3,605 deaths reported in the DRC by 16 September, early action remains critical.
Our message is simple: when serious illness occurs, seek qualified medical guidance early.
