Dear Donor,
Community gathering points can play an important role in disease prevention.
The DRC has reported 7,475 confirmed Ebola cases and 3,605 deaths as of 16 September, according to WHO.
Development Alert continues promoting hygiene awareness at locations where people frequently interact, including transport stages, markets, schools and community meeting points.
Our approach encourages handwashing, cleanliness and responsible health behavior.
We also encourage local leaders to communicate verified health information at these locations.
High-traffic points are valuable because one awareness activity can reach people from several surrounding communities.
Our work emphasizes prevention without creating unnecessary fear.
We encourage people to continue their daily activities responsibly while following health guidance.
Simple prevention measures become more powerful when entire communities practice them together.
