Youth Volunteers Inspire a New Generation of Ebola Prevention Champions
Dear Donor,
Your contributions ensure that the Young people continue to play a remarkable role in Uganda's Ebola response. As the country manages 20 confirmed cases, youth volunteers are helping spread accurate health information, encourage positive behaviors, and strengthen community resilience. Thanks to your continued partnership, these energetic volunteers are becoming influential champions of disease prevention across schools, neighborhoods, and border communities.
Youth groups are organizing awareness campaigns, leading hygiene demonstrations, supporting community clean-up exercises, and participating in door-to-door education activities alongside Village Health Teams. Their ability to connect with fellow young people through sports, music, drama, and social gatherings has made Ebola prevention messages more engaging and easier to understand.
Many youth volunteers are also assisting elderly residents and vulnerable households by helping maintain handwashing stations, sharing prevention information, and encouraging early reporting of illness. Their enthusiasm is inspiring greater participation from the wider community while demonstrating that everyone has a role to play in protecting public health.
The involvement of young people is creating lasting benefits beyond the current outbreak. These experiences are nurturing future community leaders who understand the importance of preparedness, teamwork, and public service.
Your generosity is empowering young leaders to become agents of positive change. Every awareness activity they lead strengthens community resilience, encourages healthier behaviors, and helps build a generation committed to protecting the health and well-being of their communities.
