Dear beloved friend,
Thank you so much for empowering women as leaders in Ebola prevention and community health.
Women continue to play an indispensable role in protecting families and communities during Uganda's Ebola response. As caregivers, educators, traders, and community leaders, they are uniquely positioned to promote healthy practices and encourage early action when illness occurs. Thanks to your generous support, women are being empowered to lead community-based Ebola prevention initiatives across high-risk districts and border communities.
Women's groups are participating in awareness sessions covering Ebola symptoms, infection prevention, household hygiene, and safe caregiving practices. These women are then sharing the information during savings group meetings, church fellowships, market gatherings, and neighborhood discussions, greatly expanding the reach of public health messages.
Their leadership is helping families establish consistent handwashing routines, improve household cleanliness, and recognize the importance of seeking prompt medical care when symptoms develop. Mothers are also teaching children healthy behaviors that can reduce disease transmission both at home and at school.
Community leaders have observed increased participation by women in surveillance activities, community dialogues, and support for vulnerable households affected by quarantine measures. Their compassion and dedication continue strengthening trust within communities while encouraging greater cooperation with health authorities.
Your support is helping women become powerful champions of public health. By investing in their leadership, you are strengthening entire communities, protecting vulnerable families, and creating lasting systems of resilience that will continue serving communities long after the current Ebola outbreak has ended.
