As Ebola cases in Uganda reach 20, border regions remain a critical focus for prevention and early detection. Movement between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo continues to present potential risks, making strengthened screening efforts essential. Thanks to your support, border health measures are being intensified to reduce cross-border transmission.
Health teams are actively engaging travelers at key crossing points, providing awareness on Ebola symptoms and encouraging immediate reporting of illness. Screening processes are being reinforced to identify potential risks early and guide individuals toward appropriate care when necessary.
As a result, awareness among travelers is increasing, and early detection efforts are improving. Communities near border areas are also becoming more vigilant, recognizing their role in preventing the spread of the virus.
These measures are helping create a stronger line of defense at points of entry, ensuring that potential cases are identified and managed promptly.
Your support is helping protect both national and regional health by strengthening border preparedness.
By investing in early detection and screening, you are playing a vital role in preventing further spread and supporting coordinated response efforts across Uganda and neighboring regions.
