Addressing Fear and Stigma
Fear and stigma can silently fuel the spread of Ebola. When individuals are afraid of being isolated or judged, they may hide symptoms or avoid seeking care—putting entire communities at risk.
That is why we are prioritizing efforts to address stigma through community engagement and education. With your support, we are working with trusted leaders to encourage openness, compassion, and understanding.
We are sharing messages that emphasize that Ebola is a medical condition—not a source of shame—and that early care can save lives.
Reducing stigma helps people come forward sooner, making it easier to trace contacts and contain the outbreak.
Your support is helping create an environment where people feel safe to seek help—and that is critical to stopping Ebola.
