Dear supporters and sponsors,

We would like to share with you what we did with your financial support Helping Children with Special Need to learn and connect.

Destiny Children and Family support project continues to offer weekly tutoring and creative social activities to children with special needs, giving parents and carers 4 hours of respite services per week as a short break. The project runs every Monday at Bromley URC, from 5-7pm and Wednesday’s at the Mounthfield Community Centre, Orpington from 5-7pm. These 4 hours of short break's enable parents and carers to relax while their children are learning and doing creative activities to boost their social and life skills.

Many parents and carers of children with special needs such as Autism, ADHD and other learning disabilities feel isolated with their children because of the lack of social engagement as well as affordable activities for their children. Children in particular are affected because of their complex communication needs which has an impact on their sociability, and the lack of accessible  activities make them prone to loneliness and isolation. This Project has been helping to solve these issues, and we hope to continue to support many children and young people as we can to access activities, and give a break to their carers.

Every Monday and Wednesday, children aged 5-14 years receive support in reading and writing through our tutoring group. We support them in doing their school homework, and give them the opportunity to play and engage in creative social activities which improves their skills and overall well being. We continue to provide tutoring in English,

We had a lovely day coach trip to Margate beach in August, spending quality time with our Destiny children and Family Support group. We travelled together as a group of 51 people including children and their families by coach to Margate Beach, England, the kids had opportunity to play and have fun rides at Dreamland Margate which was full of fun.

This summer ,we also have Family Picnic and bouncy castle party with soft play for all children and their families. We aim to inspire and motivate disadvantaged children and families to reach beyond the limitations that their circumstances have placed upon them, and to access activities that will help them to enjoy a better quality of life.

All of this would not been possible without your donations. Thank you so much for your giving, which brought a smile to many families, making it a very memorable quality time.

Looking ahead we will continue to run our weekly tutoring and creative social activities. We are hoping to provide more educational trips and outings for this autumn. We do hope that you will continue to support us again. Please remember to make your donation share the project page with your network by Click here to Support Children with Autism to Learn and Connect .

We look forward to keeping you posted on the progress of this project.

If you have any questions or would like to engage with this project in some way, please feel free to email us at info@lwfci.org.uk and we will get in touch with you.

We continue to provide tutoring in English, maths and creative social activities where children and young people are supported to engage in arts and crafts, create useful small objects in arts, and use their imagination to be creative. In the group they are able to socialise to form friendships and learn together with their peers. Please see the ppictures attached.

The children are receiving vital support to boost their learning and social skills through this project and this will assist them in experiencing a brighter future.  It is so wonderful to know that, some of the materials and support costs are been paid for from the contributions that you have all made to this project, supporting children with special needs to learn and connect, through GlobalGiving. Our work is only possible through the kind donations and support from our incredible donors like you.

All of this would not been possible without your donations. We thank you so much for your giving, which brought a smile to many families, making it a very memorable quality time.

Looking ahead we will continue to run our weekly tutoring and creative social activities. This coming May half term, we will have a group swimming family day outing where all our children and their families can swim together as a group while supporting each other and have fun.

We are hoping to provide more educational trips and outings for this summer, but will depend on your valuable contributions, as the project is not yet fully funded. We do hope that you will continue to support us again. Please remember to make your donation share the project page with your network by Click here to Support Children with Autism to Learn and Connect .

Your donations are the key in conducting such educational activities and offering support to our children and families. If you have any questions or would like to engage with this project in some way, please feel free to email us at info@lwfci.org.uk and we will get in touch with you.

Dear supporters and sponsors,

We would like to give you more updates of what we have been doing with your financial support Helping Children with Special Needs to learn and connect.

Destiny Children and Family support project continue to offer weekly Tutoring and creative social activities to children with special needs, giving 4 hours of respite services per week as a short break to parents and carers of children with disabilities. The project is growing and continue to run every Wednesday at the Mounthfield Community Centre, Orpington and every Monday at Bromley URC from 5-7pm. These 4 hours of short break give opportunity to parents and carers to have a break from their caring duties to relax while their children are learning and doing creative social activities to boost their social and life skills.

Over the last 3 months, children and young people have been engaged in arts, crafts and educational games. In December 2018, children decorated beautiful handmade Christmas cards to their families, practising Christmas songs and enjoy using their imagination to create useful small material in arts and being part of the group where they socialise and learn together with their peers. See pictures and our latest news letter attached.

The children are receiving vital support to boost their learning and social skills through this project and this will give them the opportunity to have brighter futures. It is so wonderful to know that, this year, some of the materials and support costs are been paid from the contributions you made to this project through GlobalGiving supporting Children with Special Needs to Learn and Connect. Our work is only possible through the kind donations and support from our incredible donors like you.

We organised and went on an educational coach day trip to West Midlands Safari Park during the October half term holiday which was part funded by Daytrippers foundation. Children and families were fascinated by the range of exotic animals that they encountered along the way of the Safari drive, and enjoyed the informative talk by the ranger on board. Families were able to exchange ideas and tips, and comfort each other, while enjoying the outing trip together with their children, which in turn improve the quality of life, reduce stress. It was nice to see children and families spending good quality time together and have fun regardless of daily challenges. We ended the year 2018 by hosting our annual Christmas party for recipients of our project, for children and families to enjoy. The children sang christmas songs, were entertained by an entertainer and every child and young people received a present from Santa. All this could have not happened without your donations and thank you so much for giving a smile and a best summer holiday to many families

Looking ahead we will continue to run our weekly tutoring and creative social activities. We are hoping to provide more educational trips and outings this year but all depend on your valuable contribution as the project is not yet fully funded yet but we hope you will continue to support us again. Thank you to all our donors who have been supporting us for the last few years. Your donations have really enabled disadvantaged children and families to encourage social integration and reduce isolation and loneliness, bring families together, create stronger and friendlier communities and help children to develop in social skills to excel in their life. We look forward for your continued support and engagement with our project.

Children are more socially affected because of their complex communication needs, and the lack of accessible clubs or activities make them prone to loneliness and isolation. This Project has been helping to solve these issues and as a result of your financial donations, children and young people can access weekly activities and at the same time give a break to their carers.

Apart from this project, LWFCI-UK offer inclusive sports activities giving accessible opportunities to young people with additional needs to play basketball and football after schools hours and weekend.

Over the last few months, children and young people have been decorating greetings cards and note books, building lego, making Jewelleries of small decorative items, and learning how to make soap using different material, creating and decorating small material and enjoy using their imagination to create useful small material in arts and being part of the project where they socialise and learn together with their peers in a group. See pictures attached.

This summer, we took 50 members of Destiny Children and Family Support Group to Lego Land in Windsor as a Family Day Outing Trip by coach where children, young people and their parents spent good quality time, travel together in a group and engage with each other. Families were able to exchange ideas and tips, and comfort each other, while enjoying the outing trip together with their children, which in turn improve the quality of life, reduce stress, and enhance social interaction and communication among attendees. We received 50 free entry Tickets as donations from Merlin Magical Wands for 50 people including children and their family to enter and use the facilities at Legoland Your donations received from GlobalGiving helped us to contribute toward the cost of this trip hiring a 51 seats Coach as transport for the group to travel together from Bromley to Legoland in Windsor. In additional to the trip, we had a Family Fun Day Bouncy castle party with soft play, Group swimming and Picnics day outings this summer for all children and their families to have fun together and socialise with each others. All these activities helped children, young people and their carers to socialise and be part of the community. They felt connected and it helped disadvantaged children and families to get out from their stressful life and reach beyond their circumstances. All this could have not happened without your donations and thank you so much for giving a smile and a best summer holiday to many families

Looking ahead, we planning to hold a big Christmas party on 19th December for 100 people and more this year and we need your donations to give Christmas gifts and foods to children and families in needs. We are asking for your support by donating any financial contribution or in kind donation such as food, soft drinks, sandwiches, snacks, raffles prizes, gifts bags for children and families or any financial support. Anything you can do to help would make a huge difference. Give a gift to a family this Christmas by donating today ! To donate please, Click here to Support Children with Autism to Learn and Connect

Thank you to all our donors who have been supporting us for the last few years. Your donations have really enabled disadvantaged children and families to encourage social integration and reduce isolation and loneliness, bring families together, create stronger and friendlier communities and help children to develop in social skills to excel in their life.

We still have a long road as the project is not yet fully funded yet but we hope you will continue to support us again and please remember to make your donation share the project page with your network by Click here to Support Children with Autism to Learn and Connect .

Dear supporters and friends,

It has been a few months since our last report so now we would like to give you more updates on what we have been doing with your financial support in helping children with special needs to learn and connect.

Destiny Children and Family Support Project continues to offer weekly Tutoring and creative social activities to children with special needs, which also gives a weekly 2 hour respite break to parents and carers of children with disabilities in Bromley. This 2 hour tutorial session not only provides children with the opportunity to learn whilst being taken care of by staff and volunteers, but also provides a short break to parents and carers, enabling them to have a short relaxing break from their caring duties. In addition to this project, LWFCI-UK offer inclusive sports activities giving accessible opportunities to young people with additional needs to play basketball and football after school hours and weekend to improve their wellbeing and social integration.

Every Monday children aged 5-12 years receive 1-1 support in reading and writing as a form of tutoring, as well as support with any school homework they may have. The session provides them with opportunities to play together and to engage in creative social activities, which all boost their learning, communication, and social skills, all of which are attributes needed in life.

Over the last few months, children and young people have been decorating greetings cards and note books, and learning how to make soap using different materials. They have been creating and decorating small objects, and enjoy using their imagination to create useful pieces of arts and crafts. They seem to enjoy being part of this project where they learn as well as socialise with their peers who they have become familiar with.

The children are receiving vital support to boost their learning and social skills through this project which will give them the opportunity to have brighter futures. It is a pleasure to acknowledge that some of the materials and support costs for the project this year are being paid for by the kind contributions that you all have made through GlobalGiving, which is supporting children with Special Needs to learn and connect. Our work is only possible through the kind donations and support from our incredible donors like you.

For the first time, this summer we are planning to bring children and their families to Lego Land in Windsor for a Family outing by coach. Children, young people and their parents can spend good quality time together whilst travelling in a supportive group, where they can share experiences and engage with each other. We will also be holding other events which consist of a family fun day and bouncy castle party with soft play for all children and their families, group swimming, as well as a picnic and other day outings planned. We aim to inspire and motivate disadvantaged children and families to reach beyond the limitations that their circumstances have placed upon them, and to access activities that will help them to enjoy a better quality of life.

Looking ahead, we are excited to be holding a joint fundraising 10 kilometre walk on the 30th June 2018, which will assist in raising funds for 3 projects that support children with disabilities in Bromley. Please do come along to join our charity walk, where you can keep fit whilst walk for a good cause. Please click the link on events bright to register and take part in our charity walk. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/destiny-kids-charity-walk-tickets-47298219247?utm_term=eventurl_text

Thank you to all of our donors who have been supporting us for the last few years. Your donations have really helped and enabled disadvantaged children and families to continue and excel in their life.

We still have a long road ahead, as the project is not yet fully funded, but we hope you will continue to support us again. Please remember to share the project page with your network by Clicking here to Support Children with Autism to Learn and Connect .

We would like to thank you again, as each and every one of you have provided vital support, and we look forward to keeping you posted on the ongoing progress of this project.
