Despite the challenges, Flavia has begun secondary school at Mukono Mixed High School.
The government of Uganda has unsuccessfully sought to provide free, high-quality secondary education to Ugandans who have completed elementary education. Despite the government’s efforts, fee-based education still prevails. Students must cover the cost of not only tuition, but also uniforms, requirements, internships and additional fees each school routinely impose. These expenses make it nearly impossible for many poorer children to gain an education, which further restricts their potential for future earning, continuing the rampant cycle of poverty.
We hope to break that cycle, one child at a time.
$50 a month provides the school fees so Flavia can continue her education and receive the additional lessons she needs. Can you help?
