At present Manavya’s children are touching the new heights in terms of education as many of our children have completed their first educational milestone that is formal schooling and have been enrolled for either diploma or degree courses of their choice in the different renowned educational institutes in Pune.
Our inborn artist and excellent painter Pankaj is pursuing his government diploma in fine arts from the popular art college Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay, Pashan which is a recognized educational institute in Pune offering various Arts related courses. After successfully completing first year of foundation course, Now he has gone for 2nd year taking commercial arts as his specialized branch which has an immense scope and significance as far as career prospects are concerned in future market. He wants to become a commercial artist and pursue his career in advertising field. Sandip is another name of a shining star in our list of role models who are on a very much right track and providing justice to the dreams that we are coloring for a bright future. Passionate about computers and curious about the newly emerging technologies in the field of Information Technology, He is completing his second year of diploma in computer engineering from Eklavya Polytechniqe Institute which is undoubtedly a leading computer training and Engineering Institute in Pune. Throughout his college journey, Now he is looking very much settled down in his studies, after facing all technical subjects in English for the first time after SSC, and showing tremendous rate of progress in all subjects including difficult computer languages such as programming in C and so on. For his personal growth, we have also brought a second hand laptop for him to enable him achieve perfection and fluency in computer programming by regular practice. Sudarshan, a really hard working and focused boy in Manavya is doing his first year junior college education in commerce (11th standard). Looking at his interest and mental capabilities, we have also given him opportunity to appear for the apprenticeship program designed by Tata Motors who has also showing genuine efforts in systematic rehabilitation of our children. He has given the written examination, personal interview and even medical fitness test and is waiting for the final results. If selected, He will get the opportunity to complete his diploma from industrial training Institute from Tata Motors which will be a full time course of two years. Amit is a name closely associated with the pride as far as educational achievements of our children are concerned; as he is the first ever graduate from our organization. He has earned his degree in Commerce by also doing a job to meet his personal expense. Now he has decided to learn something advanced and has already taken a great leap towards his dream by cracking the entrance and securing admission for the master’s course in Cyber securities from the University of Pune. Shreyas and Kiran, two of our recently completed SSC students are equally interested and passionate about technical subjects, and wants to become mechanical engineers in the future and so both of them have also given the entrance exam for ITI course conducted by Tata Motors. Currently both of them have taken an admission for 11th standard in commerce stream.
Girls in Manavya are not behind in any sense as compared to boys as far as the academic statistics are concerned. Sapna who completed her SSC education this year has taken admission for a diploma course in bakery and confectionary in SNDT College due to her passion and inclination towards cooking. Her companions both of their name is Komal, have taken admissions for their junior college first year. Kajal studying in the second year Junior college (12th) in commerce has so far succeeded in maintaining her first class in spite of many difficulties and has set a role model for other girls to follow and to get inspired from. Our college going girls have also cultivated many extracurricular hobbies most notable among those are both Komal who has gained a considerable mastery and expertise over making frames, and dolls using the quilling paper art. Recently we also got a order for making a quilling frame from one of our donors families who was greatly impressed by the skills of our girls in quilling paper art, and this family gave us the opportunity to our girl Sapna by ordering a designing frame containing the couple’s names to be placed during the marriage. This was the first professional order that our girls got due to their skill, and the feeling of success received by full filling this order was really confidence boosting for all of us. Aarti, one of our eldest girls is completing her B.A. course by taking the specialized subject psychology, and has obtained admission for her first year in bachelor of Arts, after successfully passing her HSC examination this year. She is very much inspired by the work Manavya is doing for the bunch of orphan children like her, and so she has cherished the aspiration of becoming a professional social worker by doing MSW after achieving her degree. This matured thinking itself is commendable and we feel blessed because of that fact that in all these years somewhere we have succeeded in creating a spark of selflessness and humanitarian values in many of our children.
