The Citizens Foundation (TCF) provides quality education in the heart rural communities and urban slums to Pakistan's most underprivileged children. As of April 2016, TCF is educating 175,000 children through its now 1,202 school units, imparting a quality education to the country’s future generations. We are providing local jobs, clean drinking water, imparting improved hygiene practices, and helping tackle female illiteracy.
First ever TCF College
This year TCF launched its first ever TCF College in Karachi, with over 200 boys and girls enrolled. We prepare our graduates to forge ahead offering Alumni Scholarships and Career Counselling. Over 65% of TCF graduates continue to pursue higher education.
Making dreams come true:
16 year old Aiman Fatima is one of the highest achieving students at her school in Saudabad, a densely populated town in Karachi’s Malir district. She has secured first position in every grade for the last three years, and scored an A+ grade in her ninth class board exams last year. Recently, Aiman won a coveted scholarship to study for an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma in Norway, at the United World College – a prestigious global network of 15 schools and colleges across the world. She plans to specialise in physics and eventually become an astronaut.
Adoption of Government schools:
Going forward, TCF has big plans to expand its outreach having taken over management responsibility for failing government schools across Pakistan in order to help improve the quality of education, school administration and enrolment of out-of-school children.
Number of schools adopted by TCF:
Government of Punjab - 252 schools
Government of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa - 5 schools
Government of Sindh - 2 schools
