Since he was a young boy, TCF alumnus Afzal Channa had a passion for healthcare.
In Year 8, he worked as an assistant in a local clinic, managing patient medical records and handling a variety of administrative tasks, on top of his school work. Struggling to make ends meet, he even sold empty medicine bottles to earn extra money, so that he would not have to give up doing the work he loved for something that may have earned him more money.
Following his passion, Afzal started training as a paramedic after his matriculation (GCSE) exams and continued working at the clinic. After three years of determined effort, he is now a certified technician for work in operation theatres, blood banks and laboratories across the country He also completed his Intermediate College (A-levels)and plans to apply to medical universities this year.
In his neighborhood, a particularly impoverished one, Afzal serves as the first point of call for anyone requiring urgent medical care and ensures that he always has the first aid supplies he needs in such situations.
Students such as Afzal are one of the many reasons TCF is supported by people all over the world who hope for students like him to be able to achieve their dream.
