Highlighting Neurodiversity at Rising Sun

At Rising Sun, we are committed to recognizing and celebrating the unique strengths of every learner. As part of our efforts to promote understanding and appreciation of neurodiversity, students from our neurodivergent classroom participated in an engaging STEM activity, developing a detailed model of the water cycle.

Through hands-on, experiential learning, students explored key scientific concepts while enhancing their problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills. Such interactive learning opportunities help build deeper conceptual understanding and foster confidence among children with diverse learning needs.

Advancing Digital Inclusion for Students with Visual Impairment

Rising Sun continues to take meaningful steps toward empowering students with visual impairment by expanding access to modern learning opportunities and assistive technologies.  This year marked an important milestone with the establishment of a new Learning Resource Center, which has been handed over to our team for operationalization.

The center is designed to provide students with access to technology-based learning resources and skill-development opportunities that enhance independence, confidence, and participation in education and society. Through exposure to digital tools and contemporary learning methods, students will be better equipped to overcome barriers associated with visual impairment and develop competencies that are increasingly essential in today's world.

Open House for Families of Adolescents and Adults with Special Needs

Rising Sun recently organized an Open House for parents and caregivers of adolescents and adults with special needs as part of our enrollment drive for the Independent Living Program. The event witnessed encouraging participation from families, reflecting the growing need for specialized services that support individuals with disabilities beyond the school years.

In Pakistan, limited opportunities exist for adolescents and adults with pervasive support needs, leaving many families without appropriate pathways for continued learning, skill development, and community participation. Our Independent Living Program has been designed to address this critical gap by promoting independence, functional life skills, social inclusion, and enhanced quality of life for individuals transitioning into adulthood.

The Open House provided an opportunity for families to learn about the program's objectives, services, and long-term outcomes, while also engaging in meaningful discussions about the aspirations and support needs of their children.

Through initiatives such as this, Rising Sun remains committed to carrying forward the vision of its founders by developing high-quality, innovative, and compassionate programs that respond to emerging needs within the disability community.

Celebrating the Strength and Dedication of Super Moms

Rising Sun proudly celebrated Super Moms Day to recognize and honor the extraordinary mothers of children with disabilities whose unwavering love, resilience, and dedication play a vital role in their children's growth and success.

The event provided an opportunity to acknowledge the countless sacrifices and efforts made by mothers who serve as advocates, caregivers, teachers, and sources of strength for their children every day. One of the most memorable moments of the celebration was when our students presented handmade gifts and tokens of appreciation to their mothers, expressing gratitude for their unconditional support and encouragement.

The occasion was filled with joy, pride, and heartfelt emotions as families, students, and staff came together to celebrate the invaluable contribution of mothers in the lives of children with special needs. Such events not only strengthen family engagement but also highlight the critical role parents play in achieving positive developmental and educational outcomes for their children.

Promoting Health and Inclusion Through Fun-Fitness Screening

Rising Sun, in collaboration with Special Olympics Pakistan, organized a FunFitness screening event aimed at promoting the health, well-being, and active participation of students with disabilities in sports and recreational activities.

During the event, prospective athletes underwent comprehensive fitness screenings conducted by a team of trained professionals. The assessments helped identify individual strengths and areas for improvement while encouraging healthy lifestyles and greater participation in physical activities.

It was inspiring to witness our students enthusiastically engaging in the screening process, demonstrating confidence, determination, and a strong spirit of participation. The event provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of physical fitness, early health monitoring, and inclusive sports for individuals with disabilities.

Celebrating Success at the Special Olympics National Games

Rising Sun proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of our students at the Special Olympics National Games, where they demonstrated exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship.

Our athlete, M. Ahmad, delivered a remarkable performance by securing one Gold Medal and two Silver Medals in the Long Jump, 400-meter race, and 800-meter race events. Another talented athlete, Abdul Moiz, earned a Bronze Medal in the 100-meter race, showcasing dedication and perseverance on the national stage.

These accomplishments reflect not only the hard work and commitment of our students but also the importance of providing  opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop their talents and reach their full potential.
