Supporting 18 ECD children of Banepa

By Upama Tamla (Rai) | Media Associate

On August 9, 2016 Shree Pragati Bal Bikash Kendra, an Early Childhood Development Centre (ECD) of Banepa, Kavre was supported with stationery materials. The support was aimed to encourage and support young children to attend the centre. 156 sets of copies, 216 pencils and 18 erasers and sharpners were distributed to all 18 children. Moreover, the centre was provided with 4 blankets to help them during the winter season.

During the distribution, teachers from the ECD expressed their warm thanks. According to them, this ECD was opened with the initiation of local women’s group. “Most of the students’ parents are involved in agriculture, making it hard for them to regularly fulfill the educational needs of children”, said one of the teachers. Analyzing the situation, 4 children with comparatively low economic condition were additionally provided with school bags.

During the program, an Officer of District Education Office Ms. Maya handed over the support materials to the students. “It is a very positive approach by ECCA. I wish every struggling child had this kind of support.”
