This project will support 300 children with autism in Ghana by improving access to early diagnosis, therapy services, educational support, and caregiver training. Many families caring for children with autism face significant financial and social challenges due to limited awareness and a shortage of specialized services. This project will help children develop communication, learning, and social skills while supporting their families with the care they need.
Autism spectrum disorder is often underdiagnosed and poorly understood in many communities in Ghana. Many children with autism do not receive early intervention or specialized support due to limited access to trained professionals and high service costs. This results in delayed development, communication difficulties, and increased stress for families.
This project will provide autism screening, behavioral therapy, speech therapy, and caregiver training for 300 children. It will also support awareness programs to reduce stigma and improve understanding of autism in communities and schools. Families will be guided on how to support children's development at home.
The project will improve communication, learning abilities, and social development for children with autism. Families will gain skills and knowledge to better support their children, while children will have improved access to education and inclusion in society. Over time, this project will promote inclusive education and reduce stigma around developmental disabilities in Ghana.
