Rehabilitating victims of ISIS, providing free health screenings for cervical and breast cancer, connecting small holder farmers to markets & facilitating the entry of 200+ street children into school - these are stories of just 4 of the young leaders we support! Global Changemakers is a global pioneer in supporting youth-led development. Through skills development, capacity building, mentoring and grants, we support young leaders addressing the most pressing challenges around the world.
Youth are the key to success for the Sustainable Development Goals and the better future we are striving for, yet donor funding is rarely (if ever) available to young people and youth-led organisations. Even when funding may be available, support and resources to build the skills and capacities of these young leaders to effectively develop or implement community projects is often missing. Since 2007, Global Changemakers works has been working to fill this gap, and the results are astounding!
We work to address this through: free downloadable tool kits and regular webinars, a 12-week curated virtual Mentorship Program, local and virtual 'GCMx' training events, an e-learning platform 'Changemakers School', a targeted year-long program for high-potential young leaders and grant funding for projects led by people younger than 30. To date, we have provided in person and online training to thousands of young people, reaching 180 countries, and provided grants to 363+ youth-led projects.
Through our programmes, we are able to develop young leaders at an unparalleled global scale and offer targeted support to youth-led initiatives. Evidence and reporting from our Changemakers across the world has shown a demonstrated ripple effect from these initiatives in their communities. We have seen grant funding used to start and/or scale projects that have had a combined impact on 6,2+M people and are still in operation years after their participation in our programme (visit our website).
