Whether teaching underprivileged girls how to build robots in El Salvador/Nigeria, facilitating access to drinking water in impoverished neighbourhoods in Venezuela or bringing solar electricity to remote rural schools in Malawi - these are stories of just 4 of the young leaders we support. GCM wants to reach 1000 young social entrepreneurs in 100 countries and teach them how to create, execute and scale effective and sustainable solutions into the work they do for the communities they serve.
The world continues to face extreme inequalities, humanitarian crises, climate change, and severe problems that challenge the advancement of the SDG agenda. Young people have not only innovative ideas, but also the drive to see them through, but due to their age or their geographical location, many youth around the world still lack access to resources that build their skills, connect them with international networks and support them to realize and scale their initiatives.
Global Changemakers helps the youngest generation of community workers, advocates and social entrepreneurs to take the lead to create a sustainable future. By identifying young promising talents and enhancing their capacity through mentoring, an online school or seed-funding, they will innovate and find solutions to the challenges that affect them and their communities.
We aim to contribute to sustainable and inclusive youth-lead development by supporting the work of 1,000 changemakers aged 15-30 from 100 countries. Through our programmes, we have been able to develop young leaders at an unparalleled global scale and offer targeted support to youth-led initiatives. Evidence and reporting so far has shown a demonstrated ripple effect from these initiatives in their communities.
