Support 1000 Syrian Families by Basket Food

Project Summary

The campaign “Support 1000 Syrian Families by Basket Food” aims to provide essential food assistance to the most vulnerable Syrian families in Northern Syria, particularly those residing in camps and hard-to-reach areas. Each food basket is designed to cover a family's nutritional needs for one month.

Current Status

As of today, no financial contributions have been received through the GlobalGiving platform for this campaign.

Despite this, the Salam Humanitarian Foundation remains deeply committed to the project and continues to work tirelessly to address the growing food insecurity in conflict-affected areas.

Actions Taken

While awaiting financial support, the following actions have been undertaken:

• Community Assessment: Field teams have identified and registered 1,000 of the most vulnerable families in need across various displacement camps in Northern Syria.

• Logistics Prepared: Warehousing, packaging, and transportation plans have been set up to ensure rapid deployment once funding becomes available.

• Alternative Fundraising: SHF has launched outreach efforts to engage local donors and partner organizations to co-finance the initial distributions.

• Volunteer Mobilization: Over 25 trained volunteers are on standby, ready to assist with packing and distributing the baskets.

Challenges

• Lack of Funding: The campaign’s implementation is currently stalled due to the absence of external funding via the platform.

• Inflation and Price Volatility: Food prices have increased sharply, putting additional pressure on families and making it more urgent to secure funding soon.

Next Steps

• Continue promotion of the GlobalGiving campaign through digital and community channels.

• Submit proposals to complementary donors to seek matching or supplementary funds.

• Launch a small-scale pilot distribution using limited internal resources if no external funding is received by the next reporting period.
