Challenge

Across Pakistan, thousands of widows, flood-affected families, women, and low-income households have the skills to earn a living but lack the capital to start a small business. Rising inflation, unemployment, and repeated climate disasters have pushed many into poverty and dependence on aid. Without productive assets or income opportunities, families struggle to afford food, education, and healthcare, leaving them trapped in a cycle of poverty.

Solution

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan will establish 100 small businesses for widows, flood-affected families, women, and vulnerable entrepreneurs across Pakistan. Each beneficiary will receive business equipment, productive assets, or start-up inventory based on their skills, along with basic business guidance and monitoring. This support will enable families to earn sustainable incomes, reduce dependence on aid, and build long-term financial independence.

Long-Term Impact

This project will establish 100 sustainable small businesses, enabling vulnerable families to achieve long-term financial independence. More than 600 family members will benefit from increased household income, improved access to food, education, and healthcare, and greater resilience to future economic and climate-related shocks. Successful businesses will continue generating income for years, reducing poverty and dependence on humanitarian aid.
