We are pleased to announce the first recipient of this year’s recruitment for the Student Relief Fund!
The Board of the Pro Akademika Foundation has decided to award the Student Relief Fund scholarship to Nina – a second-year psychology student. Nina was recognized for her excellent academic start and her social sensitivity, which she turns into concrete volunteer actions. This scholarship honors her courage in seeking her own path and her ability to combine academic study with genuine care for others.
Here is her story:
Finding your own path isn’t always easy, but it is this very process that allows us to get to know ourselves best. One of the most significant experiences that helped me in this journey was volunteering, including a several-month stay abroad as part of the European Solidarity Corps.
During my time abroad, I met many people, each carrying beautiful and inspiring stories. They helped me realize that there are many people in the world searching for their way. The fact that my goals are not yet perfectly defined doesn't mean I am at a disadvantage compared to others.
Even though I am still searching for my path, I know that a part of me has found a purpose in studying psychology. I also know that through these studies, I can expand my awareness and become more mindful – not only of myself but also of others. This field of study opens many doors, and I will likely realize at some point which one is truly mine.
I am deeply grateful because, thanks to this scholarship, I will have the opportunity to become even more involved in volunteering for animals, society, and the environment, and – most importantly – to focus on my academic development.
