Since 1996, the provinces of South and North Kivu in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo have experienced a devastating escalation of violence between the region's various ethnic groups. This conflict is rooted in long-simmering tensions over land, power, and identity. The resulting violence has led to widespread atrocities, a rural poverty rate of over 90 percent, and the internal displacement of more than 200,000 people.

Every activity is designed to bring people together. Mixed Peace Courts integrate all voices. VSLAs create mixed groups that build trust through economic cooperation. Supporting female leadership helps combat harmful biases and ensure more inclusive outcomes. We actively rebuild the social fabric by creating new, positive experiences of collaboration across divides. This reduces prejudice and fosters a shared identity as a community working toward a common goal of peace and prosperity.
