Global Leadership Summit

Hello to all our wonderful supporters! I can hardly believe how much time has gone by since the last time I updated you all! To say summertime has been busy is the understatement of the year! So far in 2022, Fair Haven has served 353 clients, 45 of which have been served by our Anti-Trafficking team! We have been everywhere from Night Out Against Crime to Public Safety Day, along with attending the Global Leadership Summit AND finding out a proposal of ours, Sexual Exploitation and Human Trafficking on College Campuses, was accepted as a breakout session at the upcoming Midwest Campus Safety Summit put on by Jana’s Campaign! WHOO!

Our biggest accomplishments, however, always remain with the work we do with our clients. We are still running our support group in the Lake County Community Corrections program with females who are at the highest risk of trafficking. This support group has been such an important piece in their time in custody. We have had so many breakthroughs with the women we work with, and we look forward to facilitating this support group every week!

While long-term sustainable housing is our ultimate goal (and we are working hard to make our dream a reality), there are other items that we need on a weekly basis to help keep our clients healthy and safe. This includes gas cards to attend appointments, LYFT gift cards to provide emergency transportation when they are without a car of their own, feminine hygiene products, toiletries, and clothing. With your donation, we are able to continue to provide these seemingly small, but amazing items to our clients who would go without if not for people like you. Next week, GlobalGiving is matching every donation up to $50 in their Little by Little Campaign. This is the perfect way to take a donation of any size and DOUBLE the impact. With people like you on our side, we will continue to Be The Light to survivors in our community.
