Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises worldwide, generating an estimated $150.2 billion annually. Survivors of trafficking, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and exploitation often face immediate needs in the aftermath of trauma. Through this project, survivors receive tangible crisis-response support, including clothing, toiletries, food, transportation to safety, comfort items, and emergency lodging when shelters are full.
Survivors of human trafficking, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and exploitation often face urgent, unmet needs in the immediate aftermath of trauma. In moments of crisis, survivors may leave unsafe situations with nothing-no clothing, food, transportation, or safe place to stay. When shelters are full or resources are limited, these basic needs can become barriers to safety, healing, and engagement with support services.
This project provides immediate, tangible crisis-response support to survivors when they need it most. Through survivor care kits, emergency transportation, emergency food & clothing, comfort items, and short-term lodging when shelters are full, Fair Haven helps remove urgent barriers to safety. These supports allow survivors to stabilize, access advocacy services, and build trust that ongoing help is available during critical moments of crisis and transition.
By meeting survivors' immediate needs, this project helps create a foundation for long-term safety and healing. Survivors are more likely to remain engaged with advocacy services, develop safety plans, and access ongoing support. Over time, this leads to increased stability, reduced isolation, and stronger connections to community resources that support recovery and resilience, empowering survivors to regain control and move toward sustainable independence.
