By Robert Taylor | President, St Juan Diego St Vincent de Paul
In February 2016 our St Juan Diego St Vincent de Paul food pantry provided 11,565 pounds of food for 155 families consisting of 392 adults and 267 children. Our backpack program has grown and now provides a total of 51 hungry children from McKinley and Springville Elementary Schools with food for their weekend needs.
Additionally in February we were able to provide three families with a total of $750 in emergency rental assitance to help keep them in their homes. We also provided four families $744.01 in utility assistance to help keep the heat on and water flowing at their residences. Several of these families reside just outside our parish boundaries, but their local St Vincent de Paul Conference had run out of funds for rent and utility assistance, so our help was especially needed.
Thanks in part to all of you, we are able to continue to serve those in need in our community!
